FUNCTION AND SCOPE:This position requires an experienced and skilled Studio Technician who canprovide content capture via a studio based multi-camera switched system,linked to remote bureaus via an IP based interface. The position alsorequires post-production editing and shooting for various "news magazine"type productions.Candidate will be responsible for coordinating, directing, capturing andediting daily media projects for conversion and upload to the organization'svideo web channels. Day-to-day duties include set up and operation of videoconference system, operation of audio and video equipment, includingmicrophones, video screens, video monitors, recording equipment, connectingwires and cables, sound and mixing boards and related electronic equipmentfor studio and remote videocapture.Position also requires management of the video studio, executingproduction shoots involving staff producers, outside talent and guestinterviewees, ensuring that all equipment (cameras, lighting and audiorecording gear) are in proper working condition. Strong organizationalskills are a must.This position may, at times, require travel up to 25% of the time.Candidates must be completely familiar with SD and HD grade video cameras,production switchers and audio mixers. Additional duties include:scheduling of field shoots, operation of studio cameras, teleprompteroperation and audio mixing. Experience with file compression, streamingmedia and other web-based technology is also highly desired.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for coordinating, directing, capturing and editing dailymedia projects for conversion and uploading to organization's video webchannels.2. Responsible for encoding video, generating title graphics and editingfinal video product.3. Responsible for maintaining studio equipment including: camera, lights,tripod, microphones and accessories.4. Responsible for operating studio cameras, audio mixers andteleprompters.5. Responsible for recording voiceovers both in the field and the studio.6. Responsible for learning and achieving a high level of non-linear videoediting and post-production techniques.7. Responsible for dubbing to various media such as CD, DVD andmultiple tape formats.8. Responsible for maintaining adequate supply of tapes, batteries anddigital media.9. Assists with studio lighting and technical logistics on multi-camerastudio and location shoots.10. Assists with content conversion and compression to different fileformats.11. Assists with other related duties, such as DVD and flashproduction.12. Assists with all other department needs as required.13. Assists with day-to-day functions of a high tech AV facility.14. Responsible for learning and mastering all relevant software andhardware.
